The open-plan living areas are found on the first floor, where a beautiful lounge/diner has a comfortable sofa area gathered around a TV and wood burner for cosy evenings in, and a dining area with a generously sized dining table and seating, perfect for lively breakfasts and laid-back suppers. The kitchen is an elegant, contemporary space with polished concrete counters and an island, an electric oven and gas hob, an espresso machine, an American-style fridge-freezer and a dishwasher. The utility room off has a washing machine for that unavoidable holiday laundry load and there’s a handy WC on this floor too.
From the lounge and kitchen areas, sliding doors open out onto a fabulous covered patio with a further dining table and chairs, an outdoor couch and an armchair, giving guests shelter and shade outdoors, year-round. Adjacent, you’ll find an inviting 6 x 3-metre outdoor swimming pool flanked by smart poolside seating, sun loungers and a BBQ/braai area.
Up on the second floor you’ll find all four bedrooms – two king-size and two twins with zip-and-link single beds which can be presented as king-size – and a large family bathroom with a walk-in shower. Two of the bedrooms have ocean and mountain views, while the other two restfully overlook the leafy surrounding area. The king-size master bedroom is a particularly striking room, with exposed rafters, floor-to-ceiling windows and a sleek en-suite shower room.
The games room down on the ground floor will prove irresistible to older kids and teens (and probably the adults too!) as it’s furnished with a pool table, a table tennis table and a PS3. Here, lovely arched stable doors open out onto a lawned lower garden. There’s also a shower room with a WC on this floor.
